We’ve been out of town for a few days and in the meantime our favorite George Town artist Ernest Zacharevic has been hard at work.
A new piece of his art has arrived in Cannon Street, a cute little boy stretching up for a small window on the side of a local house, he’s precariously balanced on an old blue wooden chair, that appears will tip over at any moment sending him tumbling into the street.
As a reminder, here are the rest of the street art he has created around town, with more to come. All part of the fantastic George Town festival 2012.
And for fans of Ernest’s work, here’s another one for you, this in a local George Town gallery.
A boy doing a handstand, painted on what looks to be an old warehouse door.

I thought these were real people at first… the shadows really do make them pop out!
Hi Josephine, yes, they look great don’t they
This artist is amazing! Great photos.
Reblogged this on 10th Village.
very cool work! The one with the motorbike and the push bike are my favourites ♥
Such an interesting artist.
Thanks for doing this follow up post, Ross. The new pieces are wonderful. I love this artist.
Ernest has a new, very large, mural in the first stages of being completed, I’ll give it a couple of days and add it to the post
Hi it’s Victor or again… And this time I’m going share a bad news with you.
Next time when you pay a visit in Penang this recent day, you might found out one of the Ernest Zacharevic art (the one which illustrate pair of brother and sister riding the bike) is no longer as beautiful as the picture you’ve been taken…
Yup… It’s been vandalized by morons with splash strong adhesive!
below is a past in facebook by 1 of malaysian’s chinese newspaper press (sorry, it’s all on chinese word but you will know to what extend of this art have been damaged form the pics. You can try use the google chrome — internet browser to help you translate the contents into english):
Seems like there’s nothing can be done but what’s left is your picture that could retain its beauty and serve as sweet memories.
Hi Victor, that’s really sad to see that damage, maybe they can clean it up somehow, people are stupid sometimes aren’t they!
